Michigan breaks online gaming revenue record for a fourth consecutive month in January

The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced Tuesday that commercial and tribal operators reported total iGaming and online sports betting revenue of $187.3 million during January, down 7.1% compared to December results. However, the state has posted record online gaming gross receipts for the fourth consecutive month.

iGaming gross receipts for January were a record $153.7 million. The previous monthly record of $152.8 million was set in December 2022. Internet gaming gross receipts rose a fractional 0.6% compared with December receipts. Meanwhile, gross sports betting receipts were $33.6 million compared with $48.8 million reported in December for a 31.1% decrease.

Combined total adjusted internet gaming gross receipts and adjusted internet sports betting gross receipts were $156.17 million in January, falling 7.2% from December receipts of $168.23 million.

Total handle at $475.6 million declined a fractional 0.7% from the $478.7 million total handle reported in December. It was also 4.3% lower than the January 2022 handle of $496.8 million.
